However, a new OS often has a number of bugs and issues at launch, and it takes some time before applications have full support. So even if you want to upgrade, you’ll need to check Microsoft’s PC Health Check app to see if your PC will even support Windows 11. You may need to enable TPM 2.0 from your PC’s BIOS settings to get Secure Boot working, or perhaps even switch how Windows is installed on your storage if you manually installed the OS. The hardware requirements have changed a lot here, but the PC Health Check app should guide you on anything that needs addressing.

Auto HDR will also be baked into Windows 11, which should enhance the colors in many games. The upgrade is free for Windows 10 PCs that are compatible with Windows 11. Microsoft will release an updated version of its PC Health Check app before the launch so users can see if their PC meets the system requirements to run Windows 11. There’s also a new way of managing different apps that are open called Snap Groups. When you first start up a PC with a fresh install of Windows 11, you’ll be given the option to move files and your desktop from OneDrive, similar to the Migration Assistant from macOS. It’s a very welcome feature that’s going to help a lot of users, especially as it can relieve the stress when setting up a new PC for the first time.

When multiple documents are open at once, Notpad++ allows you to scroll each page in unison. In Notepad++, first open 2 or more files in the same tab. Then, right-click on any one document and select “Scroll One Page”.
